Fairway — Privacy Policy

Fairway ("we", "us", "the app") is a golf round-tracking and social app. This page explains what data the app collects, why, and how it's used. We collect only what the app needs to function — there is no advertising, no analytics/tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Information you provide

• Account & profile — when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address as shared by that provider (Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email if you prefer). During setup you choose a display name, username, birthday, and optionally a handicap index and home course.
• Golf rounds — courses you play, tee selections, hole-by-hole scores, and round duration/distance, which you or people you're playing with enter during a round.
• Social activity — friend connections, follows, posts about completed rounds, comments, and likes, all created by your own actions in the app.

Location data

When you explicitly start tracking a round, the app records your device's GPS location to draw your route and calculate distance walked. This only happens during an active round you've started, and only for as long as you choose to keep tracking on — it is never collected in the background without your action.

Subscription & payment data

Fairway Membership purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store, and subscription status is managed by RevenueCat, our subscription infrastructure provider. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple and RevenueCat handle that.

Where data is stored

App data (profiles, rounds, scores, social activity) is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud), Fairway's backend provider, secured by account-level access rules so only you and, where you've chosen to share it, your friends/followers can see it.

Apple Wallet

If you add your handicap card to Apple Wallet, that pass is generated and signed entirely on your device — the card's contents (your stats at that moment) are embedded directly in the file handed to Wallet, not sent to or stored on any server for this feature.

Children

Fairway is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Your choices

• Round location/GPS tracking is entirely opt-in per round — nothing is recorded unless you start it.
• Handicap, username, and profile details can be changed anytime from your Profile.
• You can remove friends, unfollow, and delete your own posts/comments at any time.
